RoomMeet helps incoming college students submit introduction posts to class pages before they arrive on campus. These posts are usually used by students to introduce themselves, share a little about who they are, and connect with other incoming students.
What Are Class Pages?
Class pages are social media pages made for incoming college students.
Students commonly use class pages to meet other students before school starts, look for potential roommates, find people with similar interests, learn who else is attending their school, and share a short introduction post.
Many of these pages are independently run and are not official university accounts.
How RoomMeet Helps
RoomMeet gives students a more organized way to submit their post.
Instead of sending photos, bios, handles, and edits through Instagram messages, students can submit everything in one place.
A typical RoomMeet submission includes photos, an Instagram handle, and a short bio for a selected school. Students can include their name, roommate preferences, or class year in the bio if they want.
After submitting, the post may be reviewed and then added to the queue for that class page.
What Parents Should Know
RoomMeet is a submission tool for class pages.
RoomMeet is not a school housing system and does not replace the official university housing process.
RoomMeet does not assign roommates, verify roommate compatibility, manage dorms, or make housing decisions.
Students should still follow all official university housing instructions, deadlines, and requirements.
Online Safety
Class pages can be helpful, but students should still be careful when talking to people online.
Students should avoid sharing sensitive information such as home addresses, financial information, passwords, private documents, exact class schedules, or anything they would not want publicly visible.
When connecting with potential roommates, students should use good judgment and continue using the official school housing process when required.
Edits And Removals
If a student needs a post edited or removed, they can use Account or Support on roommeet.net, or email support@roommeet.net.
Include the student's Instagram handle, school, tracking number if available, and what needs to be changed or removed.
